Hello all,
Who is out there? Please do feel free to comment any time you get. I am still struggling with these three questions from my social enterprise work book. My answers seem so predictable:
Who are the people who have most influenced you in your life so far?
Who do you want to be like and why?
Who are your heroes and in what ways do you want to be more like them?
Anyway will most certainly have to move on from these and get stuck into the rest of the book tomorrow. What else have I achieved today?
* Diary planning (again!)
* Course Journal
* Course reading
* Course homework
* Sent out web-site meeting request

Wednesday Waffling
Hi guys, well looking at the blogs I'm following it seems that I'm not the only one who finds a daily blog a struggle. Anyway I'm a busy bee this morning on my course homework which is to summarise first learnings into between 100 and 200 words. It's not that I'm a waffler, but I just managed 181 and I hadn't even started yet! Here it is for your amusement:
Boom! So it hit me right there in the Subud Hall: I can’t be
a successful personal coach and career mentor without being willing to work
through the same processes that I will be expecting my clients and customers to
take on. Having ventured onto the course after many years wanting to do an NLP
course and still more thinking about being a life coach, here I was with a
stark reality: I too was going to change. The good news was I didn’t have to
try I just needed to go with it and see what happened.
It was with great love that I devoted myself to looking at
my core values. I can honestly say it was an epiphany moment when I realised
that essentially working with these sorts of ideas that I had always loved was
now my job. After much scribbling, juggling definitions and a study full of
index cards each representing a value I came up with my first list of core
values in order of priority for me now here in this moment.
Achievements for the day should read:
* completed course journal
* completed course homework
* met with marketing mentor
* completing meeting minutes
* read course textbook
Quote for the day has to be from Mark Twain:
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Basically Back
Hi there,
Wow, what a shocker when I realised how long it is since I last blogged. Sorry it's been so long. The day after my last blog (Wednesday) was devoted to things that had become urgent at home and then the next day (Thursday), my Mum came to visit to help me get on top of the housework, which is really starting to get me down.
I keep trying to focus on my business and training activities, but it is becoming increasingly difficult not to get distracted by all the fires that seem to need fighting as a result of my efforts to prioritise my career. Still searching for an answer given I have a perfectly supportive other half who like me finds there simply aren't enough hours in the day.
I took the Friday and Monday off as I worked/trained the weekend and then the rest of the week was devoted to the family as there was only me here. So this week I have tried to get back into everything with a small measure of success. Monday I went along to my new discussion group for two hours and that went reasonably well and yesterday I attended my first proper practice group, which felt great.
Today has been spent brushing up on my life values work and trying to get past the difficult questions I have been stuck on in my social enterprise book. So achievements for today I hope by the end of the day will look like this:
* Completed influencers work for business
* Completed values homework for course
* Completed next chapter of NLP book
* Completed PEP journal
* Did some diary planning.
Quote for the day from Pinterest:
"I want to remember that no-one is going to make my dreams come true for me...it is my job to get up every day and work towards the things that are deepest in my heart...and to enjoy every step of the journey rather than wishing I was already where I want to end up."

Morning Madness
Hello there,
Well I was up at the crack of dawn and though I can say I've had a reasonably productive day, I'm tired now and looking forward to getting an early night. So what have I achieved:
* Completed course journal
* Reread second chapter of social enterprise book
* Read "Start your social enterprise" by Social Enterprise UK
* Continued with course 'life areas' homework
* Wrote blog :)
Quote for today comes from Pinterest:
"Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can".
Also if you're reading this and can answer this question, please do comment: How can I see who is liking my posts? I can see how many people, but not who they are. Thanks.

Wondrous Weekend
Hello all,
So nice that people are still reading. Thank you. I really have no idea who all these hits are, but there must surely be a few of you who are the same people coming back to read more, so I will waffle on. Quite a productive day today. Always seems that the ones that start with exercise go that way for me. Also met a friend and had lunch out, which is a rare treat these days and was a nice burst of normality, in what has been frankly quite a whirlwind few weeks, what with suddenly starting the course and finding out about the social enterprise concept.
So what have I achieved today:
* Rang common purpose again to find out about management training, but no reply so emailed
* Continued with course homework
* Read a chapter of course text book
* Blogged (obviously)
* Completed course journalling activity
* Tidied home office
Words of wisdom come from the course text book and is apparently an Arabic saying:
What a piece of bread looks like depends on whether you are hungry or not.

Thursday Tea
Well here I am back again,
Have been away from the desk most of the week with family matters taking priority. I suppose that is one of the benefits of running your own business, you can choose. The drawback is I think that often you do, because inevitably those who never wish to work for themselves very often never feel they can give themselves permission to prioritise things at home either. I can remember my first boss telling me sometimes you have to get what you've got to sort out outside the office out first and then crack on unchallenged. True.
So fingers crossed here I am back at it once again. At best achievements today would read:
* Played my own PA updating diary with appointments.
* Read a few pages of my course text book.
* Rang final practice group member to see if he was going to join us.
* Reviewed discussions at practice group.
* Reviewed course journal.
* Added another new blog to follow.
